2008 Succession Cuvee Pinot Noir
Our BEST Pinot Noir lot from Mary’s Peak Vineyard is chosen to ferment in our ‘French Oak Tank’. After fermentation the wine goes directly to 50% new and 50% once used French oak barrels. The specially selected oak for barrels is from the Chitton Forrest, a small Forrest in Burgundy (cooler area of France) that offers a tighter gain, an elegant floral spice and richness that integrates perfectly to the finished wine after it’s 2 years of aging.
This “Old World” style Pinot Noir offers inviting aromas of raspberry and ripe black cherry that continue to intensify as it opens up, thus releasing the integrated oak spice with floral and earth tones.
The palate offloads an abundance of concentrated red berry fruits that penetrate throughout the palate.
As the luscious flavors continue, the elegant tannins interact offering the delicious velvety tone to the the finish.
With proper cellaring, this wine can be enjoyed over the next ten years or more.
